Toronto, April 7, 2006 -- Probe Mines Limited (TSX-V: PRB) is pleased to announce the completion of the 2006 winter drilling program in the McFaulds Lake area of Northern Ontario. Thirty holes, totaling approximately 4541 meters, were drilled to investigate selected electromagnetic conductors on four of the five projects Probe is operating in the area. Several new zones of sulphide mineralization were encountered, including a 35m volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) intersection on the Tamarack property to the south of the A-zone copper mineralization

Tamarack Project

Fifteen holes were drilled on the company's 100% -owned Tamarack Project, totaling 2334m, testing the recently discovered A-zone copper mineralization, and two new conductors identified in the winter ground geophysical program. A-zone mineralization was intersected in five holes, over a strike length of a minimum of 100m, to the south and west of the initial discovery, while a new zone of massive sulphide mineralization was intersected 900m to the south of the A-zone and corresponds to one of the two new conductors. The new mineralization represents a significant sulphide intersection, comprising a continuous 35 meters zone of massive and semi massive sulphides comprised of pyrite with visible chalcopyrite. This new zone is much thicker than the A-zone (7.8 meters of 3.1% Cu) and represents the potential for substantial mineralization in the area.

Double Eagle Joint Venture

Ten conductors were tested with 11 holes, totaling 1585m, on the Double Eagle property in joint venture with Noront Resources Inc. (TSX-V: NOT). Three of the holes intersected sulphide mineralization, containing visible chalcopyrite, hosted by felsic volcanic rocks similar to those in the area of Probe Mines' and Spider Resources' (TSX-V: SPQ) discoveries. In addition to the volcanic-hosted sulphides, two zones of intense faulting and hydrothermal alteration in ultramafic rocks were delineated and represent the potential for possible gold mineralization in the area.

Fancamp Joint Venture

One hole of 171m was drilled on the recently acquired joint venture property with Fancamp Exploration Ltd. (TSX-V: FNC). A thick section of highly altered felsic volcanics containing sulphide mineralization were intersected suggesting the presence of a large mineralizing system with the potential for significant base and/or precious metal mineralization nearby

Freewest Option

Three conductors were drilled, for a total of 450m, on the recently acquired Freewest Option, with only one conductor explained. Mineralization in this hole consists of banded sulphides, including chalcopyrite, and graphite in felsic volcanic rocks.

The core has been sampled and is being sent to Accurassay Laboratories in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Samples will be analysed for base and precious metals and results will be released once all of the data has been compiled
