The Bristol Township project, which is currently under option to West Timmins Mining (formerly Sydney Resource Corp.), consists of two blocks totaling 832 hectares in 52 claims.
The Bristol Township project (referred to as the "Beach" project on the West Timmins Mining website) is strategically located adjacent to the Timmins West Gold Property of Lake Shore Gold Corp. ("Lake Shore"), approximately 15 kilometres southwest of the Timmins, Ontario.
The nearby Timmins-Porcupine mining camp is a world-class district, with in excess of 70 million ounces of gold mined over the last century. It has long been recognized that the Timmins West camp, located along strike from the Timmins-Porcupine camp, is a highly prospective area for the discovery of similar mineralization. Recent exploration success by Lake Shore (2003 indicated resource of 724,000 ounces of gold, combined with ongoing exploration aimed at significantly expanding the resource) supports this contention.
As operator of the joint venture, West Timmins Mining plans to aggressively drill test known zones of gold mineralization on the property. The Company views the joint venture as an excellent opportunity to advance gold exploration in an important new district, while continuing to focus Probe's resources and treasury on its key projects.
